Adam Grant LaRochelle September 30, 1975 - May 11, 2026 Guilderland, New York Hey everyone, it's me, Adam. Plot twist - I wasn't planning on writing my own obituary, but I figured I'd do it my way so the good stuff doesn't get missed. I left on May 11th after a short illness. Came home from the hospital to my brothers house, feeling pretty good, had a great week hanging out with himand my sister-in-law, laughing, eating well, and enjoying life. Then I made a quick, unexpected exit on that beautifully sunny day of May 11. I was 50 years old and had Down's syndrome. That was part of my story, but it sure wasn't the whole story. I had a killer sense of humor, earned my high school diploma, and had real talent drawing house blueprints and dream mansions. I could see a house before it was even built. Most importantly, I loved my family with everything I had. My mom, Delores LaRochelle, 89 years young and still the strongest person I know. My brothers and sister - Scott Preston and Faith, Richard and Kimmi Preston, Kimberly Vass and Rodney, Joe and Kim LaRochelle, - who put up with me, teased me, protected me, and made life fun. I lived life my way, full of joy, and I hope that’s what people remember most. Now I’m up here relaxing with my Dad, Bill, and my brothers Marky and Tony — probably twiddling my thumbs, cracking jokes, and telling them all the latest family gossip from above. • Viewing Monday, June 1st, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Schenectady, NY 12306. A Mass of Christian Burial, June 2nd at 10:00 AM at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd, Schenectady, NY. Come tell some stories and laugh loud for me. That’s what I would do. Thanks for being part of my adventure. I had a really good time here. Love, Adam Grant LaRochelle
