Aaron F Van Wormer Iii

Rotterdam - Aaron F. Van Wormer III, 62, of Rotterdam, died on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at home suddenly. He was born on January 1, 1952 and was the son of the late Aaron F. Van Wormer, Jr. and Ester Bartley Van Wormer. Aaron graduated from Schalmont High School in 1970 and then went on to graduate from the apprentice program at Schenectady Community College and had retired from the General Electric Co. in Niskayuna. He was with the Global Research division at his retirement. Aaron was a member of the Carman Road Alliance Church and loved to meet the needs of people in our community in Christian service. He was a motorcycle and bicycle enthusiast and loved being outside in the sunshine. His love and commitment to his children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. He was the beloved husband of Kathy Frederick Van Wormer whom he married on June 26, 1971; The wonderful father of Mark J. Van Wormer of Rotterdam and Lisa (Kevin) Hodge of Greer, SC. Dear brother of Karen Fuller of Schenectady and Jo-Anne Van Wormer of Altamont. Cherished grandfather of Caleb and Chelsea Hodge. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A calling hour from 3-4 p.m. will precede the service at the funeral home.
