Ruth P. Brady, 89 of Rotterdam, died peacefully on January 11, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Ruth was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Patrick and Anna Mahoney Brady. She lived in Rotterdam most of her life and was a resident of the Edison Apartments on Princetown Rd. Ruth worked in the food services at St. Clare's Hospital before she retired. In addition to her parents, Ruth was also predeceased by her nephew, Christopher Nicholas. She is survived by her sister, Mary E. Clark of Rotterdam, her niece, Patricia (James) Nicholas of Rotterdam, great nieces, Kerri (Kevin) Nicholas-Elliott of Richmond, VA. and Elizabeth Nicholas of Phoenix AZ., her two great- great nephews, Kyle and Jack Nicholas of Phoenix, AZ. and her dear friend, Angie DeLacey. Ruth's family would like to thank Community Hospice of Schenectady, the staff of A-5 at Ellis Hospital, and most of all the staff at Capital Living Nursing Home (formerly Dutch Manor) where she resided for the last three and a half years. Special thanks to Norma, who took such special care of her the last two years at Dutch Manor. A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. John's Cemetery.
