Guilderland - Paul J. Tariello, 90, passed away peacefully at home on Friday March 18, 2016. Born in Schenectady to the late Erasimo and Rosalie Tariello, Paul went on to graduate from Mont Pleasant High School and attend Union College. From 1943-1946 Paul served our country in the United States Army Air Corps. Following his service Paul worked as a design draftsman/manufacturing engineer for the General Electric Co. at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, retiring in 1985 after 40 years of service.Paul was awarded a U.S. patent for one of his designs while working at K.A.P.L. Paul was a member of the Hump Pilots association, American Legion, Rotterdam Elks #2157 and the G.E. ¼ century club. He was an avid golfer, bowler and was an accomplished wine maker. He will be remembered as a family man which was demonstrated as he was a dedicated crew member along with his wife, Anna, in support of their son's hobby at the Paul Tariello Formula Ford race team. Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anna Carapellucci Tariello. His daughter; Lesa A. Hayward. His daughter-in-law; Patricia Tariello. 5 grandchildren; Lauren A. Hayward, Corey E. Hayward, Chelsey R. Hayward, Paul J. Tariello III and Nicholas M. Tariello. His sister, Catherine Bordwell and his brother, Armand Tariello. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Paul was predeceased by his son, Paul J. Tariello Jr., and his brothers, John and Albert Tariello. Anne would like to thank the Guilderland Police Department for their excellent, compassionatehelp in her time of need. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5-7 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 5216 Western Turnpike (just west of Carman Rd.), Guilderland. Funeral services will begin 9 am Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
