Harvey J Dubb

Lake George , NY Harvey J. Dubb, 86, of Lake George, formerly of Schenectady, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Harvey was born in Schenectady and attended Nott Terrace High School. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1952. Harvey retired from the Schenectady Fire Dept. after 22 years of service and was a past president of the Schenectady Fire Fighters Association. He also owned and operated Dubb Transportation for many years. Over the years, Harvey also owned several other business including; The Rustic Loft in Rotterdam, Harvey’s off the Boulevard, The Chalet and Harvey and Jill’s Backstreet Pub in Lake George. Harvey was a past president of the NYS Restaurant and Tavern Association and was the past 1st Vice-President of the United Restaurant, Hotel and Tavern Association. After he retired, Harvey enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Lake George Holiday Inn and playing the daily numbers. Harvey was also an avid Yankee fan. He is survived by his longtime companion, Jill Bloch of Lake George, two daughters; Debra (Carl) LaMalfa of Rotterdam and Cheryl (Robert) Carney of Schenectady, his brother Leslie Dubb of Galway and his loving cats; Spunky, Puffy and Woo Woo. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9-11 am the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 11 am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie.
