Rotterdam, NY-Mr. Attilio G. Pennacchia, age 86, of Trinity Ave., passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 14, 2015 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife and devoted sons by his side. He was born on September 10, 1928 in Fontichari, Province of Frosinone, Italy, son of the late Roberto and Fiorina (Ferrari) Pennacchia.Attilio was educated in Italy. For 47 years he was employed by General Electric as a crane follower and belonged to the GE Quarter Century Club. Mr. Pennacchia was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Rotterdam.He enjoyed gardening and making his homemade Italian wine and most of all enjoyed being with his family. He will be missed by all. Survivors include his loving family; his wife, of 59 years, Lydia (Miccoli) Pennacchia; two sons, Attilio Pennacchia Jr. and his wife Mary of Rotterdam and Chester Pennacchia and his wife Kelly of Guilderland; sisters, Elia Lecce of Schenectady and Vincenza Polsinelli of Niskayuna; his grandchildren, Tina, Lisa, Kyle, Rachel Pennacchia, and Erica (Ed) DiPrimio and many nieces and nephews and sisters in law, Anna Pennacchia and Gerta Pennacchia. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lina Martini, Giuseppa Pallante, Angelina Serafini, Emilio Pennacchia and Antonio Pennacchia. The Pennacchia family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Community Hospice of Schenectady, Visiting Nurses Service Organization and Marie and Valerie for their loving care and support given to Attilio.Donations in his memory may be sent to Community Hospice of Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam on Monday, August 17, 2015 from 5-8 p.m.The funeral will commence at 9:00 am on Tuesday, August 18th from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 9:30 am from Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Rotterdam where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.Procession will follow to Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, where entombment will take place.
