Alexander R. Carusone, 84, known to everyone as “Al” passed away at Saint Lucie Medical Center surrounded by his wife and family on November 9, 2019.
Al was a “snowbird” spending summers in Rotterdam and winters in Port Saint Lucie, FL. He was born on February 1, 1935 in Schenectady and was the son of the late Joseph and Nancy (Mastrianni) Carusone.
Al is a USAF Korean War veteran. It was during his service he met and married his wife Lorraine (Gonthier) of 64 years. They raised their seven children in Rotterdam. Al was passionate about raising a strong and close family. He enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. He worked at General Electric in Schenectady for over 20 years.
Al will fondly be remembered for how he loved to use his sense of humor to make people laugh and comfortable. He never met a stranger with a strong belief in respect for others. Al didn’t believe in “goodbye” only “see you later”.
