SCHENECTADY - Anthony (Tony) DiJohn 80 of Schenectady NY Passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday March 31,2025. Anthony was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. His love of country was unwavering. He donated to any cause that would help veterans and his country. He was the best butcher to be had. His entire career he was employed by Price Chopper as one of their custom cut managers. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. He adored all animals and made sure they were never hungry, he had a forest of them outside his door. He loved watching old westerns, Fox News, and the series Mountain Men. Anthony lived for his wife Dea and his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in watching them grow up and supported them in their activities. Anthony is preceded in death by father, Sabatino DiJohn; mother, Antoinette DiJohn; and sister, Annette Smeaton.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia (Dea) DiJohn; daughter, Deanna (Scott) Francis; son Nino (Jennifer) DiJohn; grandchildren, Hannah, Sam, Blake, and Brody; sister, Elaine (Peter) Palleschi; and several nieces and nephews. Anthony’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Debra Orlando, Vikki Peek, and Erica Newman for all of the extra care and help you gave to help keep him home during his time of need.

Anthony has been privately cremated. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday April 8th at 10am at St. John the Baptist Cemetery on Brandywine Ave, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Ave, Albany, NY 12208 or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
